Synopsis:
Based on a true account, Airswimming charts the remarkable story of two young middle class women incarcerated in a mental instrition during the 1920's. A solitary bath, one peroxide wig, the music of Doris Day and a curious form of synchronized swimming. Airswimming by exciting award winning British playwright Charlotte Jones is based on a true story, exploring the remarkable 50 year friendship of two women. Denied freedom, Dora and Persephone find that the world of their imagination allows them to be whoever and wherever they wish. Airswimming is a play with humour, compassion, rich imagery and belief in human potential, which will delight, move and entertain.
